Simon Birbeck of Wild Adventures will again be leading our popular foraging expeditions at the festival this year, guiding groups around the surrounding fields and hedgerows to explain the benefits and occasional dangers of our natural flora, some of which (under his expert guidance) you'll be able to handle and even consume!

Simon's knowledge of our native species is absolutely astonishing and he is full of fascinating facts about hundreds of plants, seeds, fruits and fungi which will stay with you long after his expedition finishes and make you want to find out even more about the nature that we so often pass by without even noticing.

Simon is an ethnobiologist, bushcraft and foraging master and not only helps his groups to identify useful and interesting plants, but brings them to life with his extensive knowledge of how human societies have used their properties in medicine, cuisine, clothing and ritual for millennia.
