Our 2025 Speaker is...
A proud Team UK Invictus Games athlete, Jonny Ball is a true example of recovery through sport. After suffering a life-changing injury, he went on to win a Bronze medal in powerlifting, captain the indoor rowing team, and hit personal bests in cycling at the Games in 2023. His story is one of the power of the human spirit, mental strength, and the healing impact of sport.
Jonny is an Army Veteran, a Pashto Linguist and Intelligence Analyst who served on operational tours in Northern Ireland and Afghanistan. Leading up to his medical discharge, he became a leading voice in mental health, working with the Ministry of Defence to extend the ‘Op Courage’ support programme to Reservists. He’s the host of the Veterans in Politics podcast and continues his advocacy as an Ambassador for the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 when the Games comes home, and as a member of the Armed Forces Para Snowsports Team.
