Armed Forces T-Shirt Day 1st September
Armed Forces T-Shirt Day came about while founder Rob was going through his old army t-shirts and wondering whether to throw them out.
Instead, the idea came to him that many fellow veterans must also have collections of military t-shirts they'd picked up over the years and that it would be great if everyone wore them on a special day to celebrate the role of UK veterans in our communities and to increase their visibility and wider awareness of veteran charities. And so AFTD was born!
Since 2022 Rob and his team of volunteers have raised tens of thousands of pounds for UK military charities, choosing a new charity every year to fundraise for and asking veterans, serving members of the British armed forces, family members, friends and supporters to all wear a military t-shirt on 1st September, donate £5 to the chosen charity, or buy one of our own AFTD t-shirts to wear, which includes a £5 donation.
If you are an employer of UK veterans, visit our Work Force page to sign up and receive assets to help you promote and run Armed Forces T-Shirt Day with your business.
Armed Forces T-Shirt Day has grown into a vibrant and welcoming community and every year on 1st September our supporters and followers post photos of themselves in their military t-shirts on our busy social media pages. Follow us today to join in and find out how to get more involved!
